Peter Lindbergh is one of my favourite photographers and his latest book is a must have for any fashion, style, photography lover. I remember his stunning black and white photographs of the supermodels nearly 30 years ago and his influence on a new style of fashion photography. This book coincides with a major retrospective at the Rotterdam Kunsthal showcasing his work and unique talent.
“Creation is the birth of something, and something cannot come from nothing. When someone creates something – a painting, a poem, a photograph – the creativity comes from an idea, from a feeling, from emotion, or from a combination of ideas, feelings and emotions that are somehow ‘reborn’ from all our experiences and perspectives.” – Peter Lindbergh
“Linda, Cindy, Naomi and the others took me away from photographing narratives in the early ’90s. Ten years later, it was time for me to go back to storytelling and the things I was fascinated by: UFO crashes, unexplained lights coming from the sky, things that were mysterious, something spiritual, but also funny.” – Peter Lindbergh
“I don’t retouch anything.” – Peter Lindbergh
Peter Lindbergh: A Different Vision on Fashion Photography is at the Kunsthal Rotterdam from 10 September 2016-12 February 2017 (kunsthal.nl)
